The PHOENICE Prototype vehicle is assembled!

A key stage of the our project is to upgrade the reference vehicle, a JEEP Compass 1.3 PHEV Eu6d, to demonstrate the maximal potential of a plug-in hybrid vehicle, optimised to reduce both fuel consumption and pollutant emissions in real driving conditions.

A few weeks ago, we announced that the PHOENICE prototype assembly was underway. It is now complete! All the new components specifically developed for the prototype were assembled with the prototype engine. It includes a new eTurbo, an electric heated catalyst, a specific aftertreatment system with urea dosing system and a new 48V system (battery, DC-DC converter, wiring harness, etc.).

The next step for the prototype vehicle is the fine tuning of its engine and energy management calibration, before an independent testing phase over RDE-compliant cycles.
